Woman racially assaulted on Redditch bus prompts CCTV appeal

West Mercia Police have initiated a CCTV appeal following a racially motivated assault on a woman aboard a Midlands bus. The distressing incident occurred on a 57/58 Diamond Bus on Church Hill Way in Redditch, at approximately 4:45 pm on Saturday, July 22.

The victim was subjected to verbal abuse by a man and a woman before they proceeded to spit at her and physically assault her.

Authorities are treating the incident as a hate crime and have released images of a woman and a man they wish to speak to regarding the racist attack.

The woman sought for questioning is described as white with light brown hair in a bun, wearing a royal blue crop top, a black coat, and light-colored trousers. The man is white, with short brown hair, a beige jacket, and a white bag.

PC Bednall emphasized the seriousness of hate crime, urging anyone with information to come forward and assist with the investigation.
