TV chef James Martin’s passionate disapproval of air fryers deepens as he takes a stand against them at BBC Good Food Show Winter

TV chef James Martin made waves at Birmingham’s NEC during his appearance at the BBC Good Food Show Winter, as he passionately expressed his disdain for air fryers. While showcasing his own iteration of a KFC-style dish, which he dubbed ‘JFC’, Martin declared to the audience his strong opinion against air fryers, going as far as to say they should be banned. He even went on to reveal his personal rule of not wanting to engage with anyone who uses an air fryer, emphasizing that certain dishes, such as fried chicken, can only be authentically prepared through deep-frying for the ideal color, texture, and flavor.

Adding to his candid commentary, Martin also voiced his aversion towards the traditional Christmas turkey, labeling it as tasteless and unappealing, and proposing that beef would be a superior alternative. During the demonstration, he further substantiated his standpoint by preparing a steak and imparting a culinary tip from Wolfgang Puck, by enhancing it with a sprinkling of beef stock cube and herb butter.

The BBC Good Food Show Winter, featuring appearances by renowned chefs like Michel Roux, Paul Ainsworth, and The Hairy Bikers, will run until Sunday, November 26. For more information on tickets and event schedules, visit the Good Food Show website.
