Salisbury City Council Adds Electric Vans to Their Fleet

Salisbury City Council has expanded its fleet of vehicles with the addition of 4 new EV electric vans, marking a pivotal step towards sustainability. These Ford Leader Transit 350 L2 vans are obtained through a 5-year lease with Hendy Ford, evidence of the council’s dedication to environmentally friendly practices.

With this addition, half of the Parks Team’s vehicle fleet now consists of electric vehicles, supplemented by 1 hybrid electric vehicle procured in 2021. The primary purpose of these vehicles is to facilitate daily operations for grounds maintenance, including gardening, strimming, pitch marking, equipment transportation, and essential safety checks in Salisbury’s parks.

This initiative underscores the council’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and paving the way for a cleaner, greener Salisbury. It reflects their overarching ambition to transition all council-owned vehicles to electric power in due course.
