Police in the Midlands have launched a CCTV appeal following a shocking incident in which a woman was racially abused and assaulted on a Diamond Bus in Redditch. The distressing attack occurred on the 57/58 bus in Church Hill Way on Saturday, July 22 at approximately 4.45pm.
The victim was subjected to verbal abuse by a man and a woman, who then proceeded to spit at her before physically assaulting her. West Mercia Police are treating the incident as a hate crime and have released images of the suspects, whom they wish to speak to in connection with the racist assault.
The woman suspect is described as white with light brown hair worn in a bun, wearing a royal blue crop top, a black coat, and light-colored trousers. The man is reported to be white with short brown hair, a beige jacket, and a white bag.

Stressing the gravity of the situation, PC Bednall stated, “We take all reports of hate crime very seriously, no-one should be targeted for being themselves and we never underestimate the devastating effect being a victim of a hate crime can have on people.”
